I am at peace. I could not have been given a greater gift than Mary's friendship with me and my Husband, Bryn, for 44 years.
She loved life so much she fought and lived every day she could for 10 years with breast cancer. She ended her own treatment that would only give her six months.
Mary stopped her chemo this week. She was sent home with her nurse on Tuesday and passed Thursday morning. Her body could not go on...yet she has gone to a higher place and her spirit is free. Our girlfriend, Janyce, we lost last year. Janyce was there with bells on to welcome her to her new life...along with many friends from St. Andrew and Holy Communion Church.
I will miss the grit she had; the New Yorker in her that we shared, her brilliant mind ( I think she knew every member of the Senate and Congress) and our shared political views. She was also a tech master that rescued me many times.
Always open to all people and ideas, she lived life on her terms till the end. You can not live a better life than this.
I pray for her beloved Mother and three Sisters that I love very much.
Mary lived life full out. She never stopped being with us no matter what condition she was in. She had so much love in her life. Amazing...
