I met "Aunt Martha", as I called her, when I was 11 years old. She and Mr. Smith owned the house where my mom and I were first third floor tenants and later second floor tenants, after they bought the house in West Orange. I spent so much time in her home, and with her family; she treated me like I was her third child. Because of her, I was exposed to things I had never experienced before. My first concert at the Apollo Theater, first concert at Madison Square Garden, first time at a drive in theater, just to name a few. I have lost count of the times that I sat at her table for meals; and the food was sooooo good. I felt welcomed and loved in her home, and I treasure those memories. I am grateful to God for allowing me to be a part of her family, and for allowing me to spend time with her a little over a week before she crossed over to the other side. My heart, my thoughts, and my prayers go out to Renay, Vincent, and all those who are grieving for Aunt Martha. May the God of All Comfort, your memories, and those you love most Comfort you during this difficult time.
Much love to you all,
Rosina aka Zeek
