Lovet Obakpolor, 39 of Jersey City passed away at New York- Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center on September 6, 2021. Lovet was born in Benin City, Nigeria and was brought to this country when she was 2 months old. Lovet grew up in Newark then moved to Jersey City where she resided for the past 10 years. She graduated from Rutgers University in Newark in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts. Lovet worked for The Port Authority of NY & NJ as a Train Engineer.
Lovet is survived by her parents Faith Oliha and Kingsley Obakpolor, and her siblings Nosa, Pamela, Jennifer, Nicole, Oghogho and Uyiosa. Lovet will always be remembered for her infectious smile and laughter, big heart, great sense of humor, generosity and kindness.
Lovet enjoyed gardening, knitting clothes and accessories, baking breads and cakes and cooking delicious foods. She also enjoyed traveling around the world, watching Broadway musicals and fashion. Lovet will always be loved and missed. Her memory will live on forever through her family and friends. Her love, her voice and smile are forever imprinted in our minds.
