Obituary of Carol L. LaBelle

Carol L. LaBelle, 87, of South Orange, NJ formerly of Philadelphia,PA passed away on February 14, 2025. Born in Iowa City, IA, Carol went on to pursue higher education, earning her bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University, a master's degree in Speech from Northwestern University, and a master’s degree in Reading/Language Arts Instruction from the University of Pennsylvania.

A dedicated educator, Carol taught as an English professor at the Community College of Philadelphia for many years, inspiring countless students with her knowledge and passion for the subject. She served as Chair of the English Department and retired in 2006.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Catherine LaBelle (Jeff Levine), and her beloved grandchildren, Leo and Charlotte Levine. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched through her teaching and kind spirit.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Mary’s Hamilton Village, 3916 Locust Walk, Philadelphia, PA on Wednesday, March 12^th at 11:00 AM.
