this is the Bruce I will always remember ! Out there, making friends regularly, actively following his interests, whatever they would be ! The tea parties, dinners, road trips. He had a lovely home and entertained monthly. Bruce was a frequent visitor at my home and I will have cherished memories of those visits always ! Bruce chased his hobbies with such a memorable passion. Always in our hearts ! So long my ole pal !! Robert

As a boy and teen member of the Grace Church Choir in the 70's and 80's, I knew Bruce as a fixture. He could be surprisingly quick with a smile peeking through a serious visage. One day, I asked him how he like Durufle's Requiem. Since it was based on plain chant themes, I assumed (smugly) that Bruce liked it. He didn't even wait a blink before turning to me and saying, "Remember young Mr. Fischer, corruptio optimi pessima est." I stood bewildered and asked, "What does that mean?" Bruce replied, "Perversion of the best is the worst." If Bruce was correct in his beliefs of what the afterlife will be like, he is presently singing beloved Gregorian chant with the choirs of heaven.

He was a gentle man. As we all know, he was wicked smart. Finishing all English lit and French lit classes in Rutgers by junior year, although don’t get him started with any electronics or IT! Always willing to help like many I thought there would be more time and he had no fear of dying. It was amazing. I miss my very very good cousin Bruce.!

Bruce Ford had many interests, achievements, and talents. I have known Bruce since the 1970's and would like to emphasize his knowledge of liturgy and liturgical theology. He was certainly more knowledgeable and conversant with these topics than most Episcopalians. He brought to this understanding a knowledge of the history of the liturgy and it's application to contemporary worship and devotion. I always counted on his expertise in these areas. This is a great loss as I will miss our conversations.
