Obituary of Esther R. Klotz

Esther R. Klotz, 93, a lifelong resident of Maplewood, born in the house she lived in all of her life, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025.

After graduating from Columbia High School, Esther worked at Dunn & Bradstreet until the birth of her son in 1959. As a house wife she took care of her ailing parents & husband until their passing. Esther’s passion was spending time with her family and through her lifetime loved preparing meals for them.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19th, at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home 2122 Millburn Ave, Maplewood from 9:00 to 9:30 AM ONLY. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St, Maplewood. Interment will take place at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents James and Anna Ruta, husband, Warren Klotz; her sister, Connie Juliano (Danny); her brother, Malcolm Maccario (Susan); her brother-in-law, Henry Petit; and her nephew, Maurice Maccario.

She is survived by her son, Christopher Klotz (Rita), and her daughter, Theresa Matrinec (Scott); her sister, Carol Petit; her cherished grandchildren, Nicholas and Jonathan Klotz; and her great-granddaughter, Violet Klotz. She is also survived by her nieces, Diane Flagg-Meyer and Judy Juliano, and Susan Maccario.
