Obituary of Catherine Bissinger

Catherine Carol Bissinger, 54, of Maplewood, passed on March 18 from complications related to cancer.

Cath is survived by her mother Mary, a longtime resident of Maplewood who currently resides in Greenville, SC. Cath’s oldest brother Fred and his wife Cindy reside in Franklin, TN; her brother Mike and his wife Kristin live in Greenville, SC. Her younger brother Chris and his wife Kerry live in Franklin, MA.

Cath graduated Columbia High School in 1989 enjoying a fantastic athletic career in soccer and volleyball. She earned a volleyball scholarship and an undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont. She then earned a Master’s degree in business from Seton Hall University.

Cath began her professional career in development and fundraising at Seton Hall University before moving into Manhattan where she was a development officer at the Hospital for Special Surgery as well as New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Cath was fiercely loyal to her mother and father, Brad J Bissinger, who passed in 2001, and will be sorely missed by her 6 nieces and her nephew.

The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, March 29th from 3-5 PM at Preston Funeral Home in South Orange, NJ.
