Obituary of Vincent M. Policarpio
Vincent M. Policarpio, 75, of Millburn, NJ, passed away on March 21, 2025, at Overlook Hospital.
A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 25, at 10:30 AM at St. James Church, 45 S. Springfield Ave, Springfield. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Short Hills.
Born in Summit, NJ, Vincent was a longtime resident of Millburn for the past 48 years. He worked as a warehouse manager for Adidas in Springfield. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rita Marcantonio Policarpio; his daughter, Rose Marie Kelly, and her husband, Brian; and his cherished grandchildren, Phillip, Matthew, and Marissa Kelly.
Vincent was born to Marie and Nicholas in Overlook Hospital on February 25, 1950. He grew up in Springfield surrounded by his many cousins.
After Vincent served in the army for two years, he was discharged in 1972, and quickly purchased a brand new Harley Davidson and grew his hair long. Shortly after, Vincent met the love of his life, Rita, and they were married in 1977, celebrating 47 years of marriage last October.
An avid fisherman, he would wake up before sunrise most weekend mornings to take a ride to Sandy Hook and walk the beach with his rod. He was most at peace watching the sunrise while casting his line into the Atlantic.
Vincent loved the simple pleasures in life, focusing on a new garden each summer, where he proudly grew his tomato plants from seed. He enjoyed watching Rangers hockey and the Yankees play ball.
A man of a few words, but so much love in his heart. Vincent would often leave a conversation with a smile and a quick “take it easy.”
Vincent will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
