Really sorry to hear this! Should've known something was different because I didnt hear her voice, a very active and poignant voice, in our community of Orange, NJ! I remember we had a meeting with a slumlord and we are in the hallway and Mary was there advocating for a friend of hers. We knew each other through social media but never met personally. That was my first time meeting her! That meeting will forever remain with me! She walked the walk!!!

I’d like to start by saying that I really wish I could be there to offer my condolences in person.
When I think of Mary I will think of the really random conversations we would spend hours talking about. She was a life long learner- always interested in hearing more and learning more. You could tell she was genuinely interested in what you had to say. I would walk away thinking “well that was a pretty cool conversation”. At holiday times, she made my family feel welcome when we would join in family dinners.
My heart breaks for you all. Thinking of you all…

The first moment I met Mary, I felt like we had known each other for years. She was one of those rare individuals who could put one at ease and talk about everything and anything with enthusiasm and passion.
I will miss our conversations. They are precious treasures I will keep within my heart. ❤️

Mary was a wonderful human! She once took our family on a tour of NYC and later dined at a restaurant in NJ…. Good times had by all! She was also a member of our online gaming team playing the game “Battle Pirates”! You be sadly missed but never forgotten. Pirates Forever Lostboys

I am at peace. I could not have been given a greater gift than Mary's friendship with me and my Husband, Bryn, for 44 years.
She loved life so much she fought and lived every day she could for 10 years with breast cancer. She ended her own treatment that would only give her six months.
Mary stopped her chemo this week. She was sent home with her nurse on Tuesday and passed Thursday morning. Her body could not go on...yet she has gone to a higher place and her spirit is free. Our girlfriend, Janyce, we lost last year. Janyce was there with bells on to welcome her to her new life...along with many friends from St. Andrew and Holy Communion Church.
I will miss the grit she had; the New Yorker in her that we shared, her brilliant mind ( I think she knew every member of the Senate and Congress) and our shared political views. She was also a tech master that rescued me many times.
Always open to all people and ideas, she lived life on her terms till the end. You can not live a better life than this.
I pray for her beloved Mother and three Sisters that I love very much.
Mary lived life full out. She never stopped being with us no matter what condition she was in. She had so much love in her life. Amazing...
