Obituary of Mary A. Petrozzello

Mary A. Petrozzello, 101, of West Orange, formerly of South Orange, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025. 

Born on December 19, 1923, in South Orange, NJ, Mary was a lifelong resident of New Jersey, having lived in South Orange and Union before moving to West Orange 14 years ago.

Mary was predeceased by her seven siblings: Mildred DePalma, Frances E. Magliaro, Elizabeth Magliaro, Anthony Magliaro, Nina DeJohn, Luke Magliaro, and Grace Messina. She is survived by her loving children: daughters MaryGrace Allenchey (Chet), Angela Potzer (Charles), and son Dominic Petrozzello (LuJan); her devoted sister Lucy Spinelli; cherished grandchildren Jason Potzer (Sue), Jonathan Potzer (Erica), Meredith Stubblefield (Brad), and Emily Roskop (Dylan) and six adored great-grandchildren: Hannah Potzer, Dominic Michael Stubblefield, Andrew Potzer, Graham Roskop, Taylor Roskop, and Maxwell Potzer.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Sunday, August 24th, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave, South Orange, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 25th, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect Street, South Orange, NJ. Burial will follow at Pleasantdale Cemetery in West Orange.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.

Mary’s long life was marked by love, family, and enduring faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
