Obituary of Grace Matthews McDermott

Grace Matthews McDermott, age 85, of Melville, NY died Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Avenue, Maplewood, NJ on Sunday, September 7th from 2-6 PM.

The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael the Archangel, 1212 Kelly St., Union, NJ on Monday, September 8^th at 10:15am. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

Grace was born in Rathmullan, Ireland. She lived in Baynton, FL for over 20 years, Union, NJ for 4 years and Melville, NY the past 5 years.   

Grace is predeceased by her first husband Patrick J. Matthews, her two step sons Sean and Kevin McDermott. She is survived by her husband: John McDermott, two daughters: Kathleen Holmes, and Eileen Allison, three sons, Patrick, Joseph and Thomas Owen Matthews, and step daughter, Mary Pizzo.
