Obituary of Edward Thomas Starzynski
Edward Thomas Starzynski, 64, of Irvington, formerly of Maplewood, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025, in Kennebunkport, Maine.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31st, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Church, 767 Prospect Street, Maplewood, followed by a Funeral Mass at 7:00 PM. Interment will be private.
Born in Newark, Edward was a lifelong resident of Maplewood for over 50 years before settling in Irvington. He worked as a General Maintenance Engineer at Seton Hall University for more than 35 years, retiring in 2022. Edward was known for his strong work ethic, kindness, and dedication to his family and community.
Ed was an avid lover of classic cars and movies. He was a maintenance engineer by trade but loved spending time on his own projects whether it was working on an old car or an old house.
More than anything though, Ed loved spending time with and supporting his children. Whether it was watching them play baseball, basketball or soccer, or supporting them on the sidelines as they grew up and got into coaching, he was always there to support them and cheer them on.
He was predeceased by his beloved grandson, Gael Starzynski. Edward is survived by his loving wife, Randee Starzynski, and their children Edward, Jaime, Danielle, Anthony (Courtney), Joseph, and Dominick Starzynski; cherished granddaughter Arwen Starzynski; and devoted sisters Diane Pietrodangelo and Linda Domazet. He is also survived by his niece and nephew, Janine and David Weekly, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Edward will be remembered for his warmth, integrity, and the joy he brought to those around him. In lieu of flowers donations to The American Heart Association would be appreciated.
