Obituary of Christopher Alfred Coyle

It is with great love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Alfred Coyle, who left us peacefully while surrounded by family.

Born in London, England, Chris spent his childhood and early adult years in Australia, where he developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the land. As a young man, he worked as a farmer throughout his teens and twenties before moving to Sydney, where he began a 32-year career with Colgate-Palmolive. His work took him across the globe to more than 50 countries, allowing him to build lifelong friendships and experience the world in a way few do.

Chris eventually settled in New York City and later made his home in Maplewood, New Jersey. After retiring, he moved to Arizona to enjoy the sunshine and quiet of the desert with his family. In his final years, he returned to New Jersey to live with his son, where he was lovingly cared for and surrounded by those closest to him.

Chris is survived by his sister, Yvonne Wendt; his son, Matthew Coyle Sr.; his daughter-in-law, Tessa Coyle; his cherished grandson, Matthew Coyle Jr.; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his devoted wife, Doris Coyle; his brother, Michael Coyle; and his parents, Alfred and Dorothy Coyle.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chris’s memory to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, a cause close to his family’s heart.

Chris will be remembered for his quiet strength, worldly perspective, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched around the world.
