Obituary of Barbara P. Kuhl

Barbara P. Kuhl, age 95, of Basking Ridge, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Randolph, surrounded by her beloved family.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th, from 2:00–6:00 PM at Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Avenue, South Orange, NJ. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 15th at Preston Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ.

Barbara was born on Prince Edward Island, Canada. She settled in South Orange, NJ with her husband to raise their 5 children. She enjoyed working as a crossing guard for South Orange Village for 17 years, retiring in 1996. Barbara was a proud member of Eastern Star Lincoln Chapter #95, Caldwell, NJ.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Mathias “Fritz” Kuhl, her son John F. Kuhl and 4 sisters: Edna, Elizabeth, Donna Ebbutt and Lois MacLean. She is survived by four of her children: Nancy Gervasio, Donna Schroeder (husband Charlie), Ronald A. Kuhl (wife Eileen), and Janet Baker (husband Steve), her brother in-law, Lorne MacLean; and seven beloved grandchildren: Barbara, Joseph, Katrina, Alyssa, Ronald, Sonny, and Jessica, 5 great grandchildren, Sonny Jr., Alice, Damien, Aiden and Jaxson.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to Eastern Star Home, 111 Finderne Avenue, Bridgewater, NJ or Make-A-Wish Foundation.
