Obituary of Eleanor "Elly" Radler
Eleanor Johanna Radler, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, peacefully passed away in her home on December 29, at the age of 93.
Eleanor was known for her hospitality and her genuine desire to help others. Throughout her life she worked as a radiology nurse, a dental assistant as well as an Avon lady. She was affectionately nicknamed in the neighborhood as “Hank”, as she was always ready with her tool box to try and fix anything and everything.
If Eleanor could be labeled with virtues, charity and generosity would be the two that stood out among the rest. Elly was always the first to lend a hand to those who needed help. She always placed others before herself. Eleanor will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and strength. She was always the first to help others out and instilled that trait into her children. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched, the family she loved, and the many memories that will always bring comfort and joy to those that knew her. Above all else, Eleanor was devoted to her family. She was a loving and supportive wife, a caring and selfless mother, and a proud grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world, and her love for them was evident in everything she did.
Elly was predeceased by her husband Louis C. Radler and her son Michael N. Radler. She is survived by her beloved son Stephen Radler and his wife Kristine Radler; her daughter Kathleen Radler and her two grandchildren Zachary & Emma Radler, her nephews and nieces and their wonderful children.
Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home 2122 Millburn Ave, Maplewood, on Friday, Jan 2nd from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Jan 3rd at St. Joseph’s Church, 767 Prospect Street, Maplewood at 10:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.
