Obituary of John Robert Levendusky

 

John Robert Levendusky, age 95, of Ossining, NY, formerly of Union, NJ, died Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 11, from 4:00–8:00 PM at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Avenue, Maplewood, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 12, at St. Joseph’s Church, 767 Prospect Street, Maplewood, NJ. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Bloomfield, NJ.

Mr. Levendusky was born on February 11, 1930, in Nutley, NJ. He lived in Union, NJ for many years before moving to Ossining, NY. John was employed as a Tool & Die Maker at Hyatt Roller Bearing, a division of General Motors, in Clark, NJ, from 1952 until 1982. Following his retirement, he proudly owned and operated the Top Shelf Tavern in North Plainfield, NJ for many years.

John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marie (D’Alessio) Levendusky, in 2006; his son, John “Jackie” Robert Levendusky; and his daughter, Kim Ann Levendusky.

He is survived by his daughters, June Crawford, and Cindy Hazen; his son, Gary Levendusky; his brother, Richard Levendusky; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter, 23 Vreeland Road, #105, Florham Park, NJ 07932, would be appreciated.
