Obituary of Neil G. Moore

Neil G. Moore, age 97, of West Orange, New Jersey, passed away peacefully in West Orange.

Born and raised in Georgetown, British Guyana, Neil earned his bachelor’s degree from DePaul University. He began his professional career as a Human Resources Executive with Sambach Parker & Co. in Guyana. In his early fifties, more than 45 years ago, he immigrated to the United States with his family and built a new life in New Jersey.

Neil was employed at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey, where he served as Parking Garage Manager until his retirement in 2005. After obtaining his real estate license, he went on to enjoy a successful career in real estate throughout Essex and Union Counties.

Neil was an avid conversationalist who could engage thoughtfully on nearly any topic. He also delighted family and friends as an amateur crooner, with a remarkable repertoire of classic songs committed to memory and a rich vibrato that made every performance memorable.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Pamela Joan Williams Moore; his daughter, Carollann Moore; and his son, Wayne Moore.

Neil is survived by his sister, Norma Gloria Taylor; his nephew, Norris Irwin Taylor; and his dear family, friends, and devoted guardians, Jon and Jina McGriff.
