Obituary of Delores A Roberts

Delores A. Roberts, 76, of Maplewood, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15.

The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, March 28, from 2:00–3:00 p.m. at The Jacob Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Avenue, Maplewood, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m.

Born in Roanoke Rapids, NC Delores later lived in New York City before settling in Maplewood 46 years ago, where she made her home and became a cherished member of the community.

Delores earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Adelphi University in Long Island. She went on to work as a Computer Technician for the City of New York for many years, where she was known for her dedication, professionalism, and strong work ethic.

She is survived by her loving husband, Lester Roberts; her devoted daughter, Kimberly Matthews (Darrell); her beloved grandson, Orlando Matthews; granddaughter Teasha Matthews and her siblings, Wilbert Avent Sr., Leroy Avent, and Joyce Brown. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
