Uncle Anthony was more than just a family member; he was a mentor, a guide, and a cherished friend. One of the most defining aspects of our relationship was his gift of books. Uncle Anthony had a way of knowing exactly which book would capture my imagination and inspire my curiosity. Each book he gave me was a doorway to a new world, a new perspective, and a new adventure.
But Uncle Anthony's influence extended far beyond the pages of the books he gifted. He was always willing to discuss what I was reading, no matter how busy he was. Our conversations were vibrant and enlightening, filled with his thoughtful insights and genuine interest in my thoughts and opinions. He encouraged me to think deeply and to question the world around me.
It is because of Uncle Anthony's passion for literature and his unwavering support that I decided to become a library media specialist. His love for books and the joy he found in sharing them with others inspired me to pursue a career where I could do the same. I owe my professional path to his influence and encouragement.
Uncle Anthony's legacy lives on not only in the books he shared but in the lives he touched with his kindness and wisdom. He showed us all the importance of being present, of listening, and of nurturing the love for learning in others. While my family and I will miss him dearly, we carry forward his spirit by continuing to share stories, seek knowledge, and inspire others, just as he did.

Anthony was my uncle. I used to love seeing him and hearing from him. He was quiet, but he was nice to me. I'm really proud that he was an editor for Random House; I love to read and write myself. I used to ask him if any interesting books had come through lately. Random House has since been folded into Penguin Books, which was commissioned to be the American publisher for Bindi Irwin's Wildlife Warrior book. given mutual orientation toward kids and family, I see it as a point of pride, if not an ideal situation for Random House. I see my talent and capacity as a call to take up the mantle, and I guess I'm up to it, even though I know I'm not always going to feel like it.
My Uncle Anthony got me my VHS copy of Matilda when I was nine. in 2009, he gave me for Christmas an American Express gift card I used to cover most of the cost of the Build-A-Bear I have today and the accessories she came with; now she's kind of my sixteen-year-old daughter, Hope.
My Uncle Anthony loved his family and I love him, and for that, I thank him and miss him.
