Obituary of Margaret "Peggy" Madaras

Margaret “Peggy” Madaras (Langan), of Short Hills, NJ, was welcomed by the Lord on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the age of 94.

Born in the Bronx, NY, raised in South Orange, NJ, and a longtime resident of Short Hills, Peggy lived a life defined by faith, family, and generosity. 

A devout Catholic, she held a deep and abiding faith, always believing that St. Anthony, St. Joseph, and Mary, the Queen Mother, would forever protect and guide those she loved. Her legacy of unwavering faith will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

Peggy was a gifted knitter, known for her generous spirit. Many who knew her were fortunate to receive one of her handmade creations; each stitch was a reflection of her love and a testament to her talent.

She is survived by her loving children & their spouses, cherished grandchildren & their spouses, and great-grandchildren, all of whom were the center of her world. 

The family will be receiving friends on Monday June 8, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave., Short Hills, NJ. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00AM. Entombment of ashes at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
