Obituary of John J. Bott

John J. Bott, 82, of Maplewood, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 1st from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Avenue, Maplewood, NJ.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 2^nd at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, 767 Prospect Street, Maplewood, NJ. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, New Jersey.

Born in East Orange, New Jersey, John was a longtime resident of Maplewood and a devoted member of the community. He retired in 2000 from the Millburn Post Office, where he worked for 35 years as a mail carrier. Following his retirement, John continued serving the community through his work for the Township of Maplewood.

John was a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Maplewood and an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Regina Pacis Council. He was known for his dedication to his family, his church, and helping others.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; his loving son, Christopher and his wife Maura; his cherished grandchildren, Nicolas, Anthony, Emma, and Luca; and his sisters, Cecilia Shannon and Barbara Lane. John was predeceased by his brother, Charles Bott
