Obituary of Roy C. Venckus

Roy C. Venckus, 82, of Clifton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Morristown Medical Center.

Visitation will take place at Preston Funeral Home on Sunday, May 31^st from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect Street, South Orange, on Monday, June 1, at 10:00 a.m. Interment is private

Roy was born in Orange on September 29, 1943 — fittingly, National Coffee Day — and spent most of his life in South Orange before moving to Clifton ten years ago. He worked in the sales department for Charles F. Connolly Distributing in North Arlington for 62 years until this past January. When he wasn’t at work or playing solitaire, he could be found in his favorite place - Key West.

Roy will be remembered for his warmth, sense of humor, and devotion to his family. He is survived by his loving daughter, Aimee Jovanis; his son, Jon Venckus and his wife Rachel, his cherished grandchildren, Elisabeth Jovanis, and Evan, John, and Matthew Venckus.
