Barney L. Kittles, 45, of the Bronx, passed away on May 31, 2026 at Jacobi Medical Center.

Visitation will be held at The Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Avenue, South Orange, on Saturday, June 20, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 5:00 p.m.

Barney was born in Brooklyn and lived there for most of his life before moving to the Bronx two years ago.

He was predeceased by his parents, Barney Kittles Sr. and Roma D. Jackson; and his brother, Barney Kittles, Jr. He is survived by his brothers, Shareek, Davon, Christopher, and Sharon Kittles; his nephews Taquan A. Owens, Shane Kittles , Nasir Freddrick, Prince Jones, Lavon Kittles, Legend Kittles, Ky’aire Kittles, Shareek Kittles Jr., Christopher Kittles, Javonte Kittles, Safari Davis, and Ocean Davis; his nieces Tyanna and Amari Kittles; his great-niece T’anylee Kittles; his great-nephew Legend Barney Kittles; his great-uncle Roosevelt M. Peele and great-aunt, Ruby M. Roberts; aunts, Rhonda Newsome and Ramona L. Murrell-Taylor, Effie Mitchell and her husband Bernard Mitchell Sr., Betty Kittles (with her two daughters), Catherine Jackson (with her four daughters); his uncles: Bernard Spellman (with his two daughters and son), and Shaborne Jackson (with his two sons and one daughter), and Ally Jackson (with his one son and one daughter); his first cousins, Casandra Newsome, Clinton Newsome, Jr., Cory Newsome, Stelina Jackson, April Jackson, Cynthia Jackson, Karen Jay, Bernard Mitchell Jr., Finesse Lawton, Janet Lawton, Naimah Murrell, Sadeka Murrell, Le’Sha Charles, and Jasmine Callender; as well as a host of cousins and friends.

 Barney will be remembered by his family and friends for the impact he made on the lives of those who knew and loved him.
