Obituary of Lorraine M. Laufhutte

Lorraine M. Laufhutte, 96, of Maplewood, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, June 5, 2026.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Thursday, June 11th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, 767 Prospect St., Maplewood on Friday, June 12th, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.

Born in Irvington, New Jersey, Lorraine was a lifelong resident of Maplewood and a devoted member of St. Joseph's Church. She served as the church secretary for 58 years before retiring in 2004. Lorraine was an active member of the St. Joseph's Rosary Society, the Rainbow Club, Maplewood Seniors #2, and AARP.

Lorraine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert W. Laufhutte, Sr., her sister, Dorothy Mensinger; and her grandson, Jim Nazario. She is survived by her loving sons, Robert W. Laufhutte, Jr. (Kathie) and Jeffrey M. Laufhutte (Jan); her grandchildren, Jennifer Perhac (Andrew), Aimee Shine (Stuart), Kaitlin Nazario, and Keith Laufhutte (Chyna); and her eight cherished great-grandchildren, Ava Geise, Gianna Nazario, Logan Perhac, Avery Perhac, Rylan Perhac, Aubrey Perhac, Amaya Prentice and Silas Shine.

Lorraine will be remembered for her deep faith, devotion to her family, and the kindness she extended to all who knew her.
