Obituary of Delita D. Campbell
Delita D. Campbell, 82, of Newark, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7th. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Friday, June 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at The Episcopal Church of St. Andrew & Holy Communion, 160 W. South Orange Avenue, South Orange. A Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Hollywood Cemetery.
Born in Manchester, Jamaica, Delita immigrated to the United States in 1979 in search of new opportunities and a better future for her family. She made Newark her home for the past 42 years, where she became a beloved member of the community and built a life defined by hard work, dedication, and love for her family.
Delita was employed by the Environmental Services Department at University Hospital in Newark, where she served as a supervisor for 26 years. She was respected by her colleagues for her strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment to excellence. Following a distinguished career, she retired in 2011.
She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Winston Campbell.
Delita leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Robert Campbell (Veronica "Bev"), Marlene Campbell-Boucher, and Geoffrey Campbell (Erica); her sister, Ellen "Angie" Fearon; her brother, Alvin "Sonny" Fearon; 10 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and 1 more on the way as well as many extended family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives were enriched by her kindness, strength, and generosity and those who loved her.
