Obituary of Raffaele Magliaro
Raffaele Magliaro of South Orange passed away peacefully at home he was 89.
Born in Pratola Serra, Italy, Raffaele came to the United States and made South Orange his home in 1961, where he built a life centered on family, hard work, and community. He was employed by Bokers & Wiss Manufacturing in Maplewood for many years. He retired from the Summit Board of Education in 2004 where he was custodian of Lincoln-Hubbard School.. He took tremendous pride in the appearance of his home and his meticulous landscaping perfection earned the envy of his neighborhood for decades.
Raffaele was a proud member of Club Savoia and enjoyed the friendships and fellowship he shared with its members over the years. Above all, Raffaele was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, kindness, and unwavering love for his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Elena (DiGiovanni) Magliaro; his loving children, Angela Madden and her husband, James, and Louis Magliaro and his wife, Colette; his cherished grandchildren, James Madden, Jenna DiNoia and her husband, Michael, Brian Madden, Mariann Magliaro, and Louis Magliaro; and his dear sister, Antoinietta Magliaro. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Avenue, Maplewood, on Monday, June 29th, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect Street, South Orange, on Tuesday, June 30th, at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park.
