Obituary of Mary Geran

Mary Oates Geran, 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Winchester Gardens in Maplewood, New Jersey.

Born in Buffalo, New York, Mary spent the last 15 years of her life in Maplewood. She earned her bachelor's degree from St. Lawrence University in New York and went on to enjoy a long career as a business secretary with IBM in White Plains, where she was respected for her professionalism and dedication.

Mary will be remembered for her intelligence, kindness, and quiet grace. She cherished the time spent with her family and friends and leaves behind many treasured memories.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael J. Geran, and her brother, John Oates.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Avenue, Maplewood. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1360 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange. Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.

Mary's warmth, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
