Michael Alexander Dzikowski

Michael Alexander Dzikowski, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of June 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was 58 years old.

Born on March 25, 1968, in New York City, Michael spent his early childhood there before moving with his family to Maplewood, New Jersey in 1979. Maplewood quickly became his true hometown, where he graduated from Columbia High School in 1986, forming countless friendships that remained among his greatest treasures throughout his life.

Michael graduated from Rutgers College in 1990 and built a distinguished career in wealth management, beginning at Merrill Lynch before continuing as a Financial Advisor with UBS.

Michael met the love of his life and best friend, Carrie Donato, and the two quickly began their life together. Their greatest joy was raising their two sons, Gavin and Garett, of whom Michael was immensely proud as they pursued their own paths.

An avid sports fan, Michael’s loyalty never wavered. He was a lifelong New York Giants and Knicks fan, a proud Rutgers alumnus and an unwavering supporter of Rutgers Athletics, who enthusiastically donated whenever the university called upon him.

Michael coached football and basketball, and was a dedicated supporter of the Springfield boys lacrosse program. He generously gave his time, enthusiasm, and financial support to help grow the sport within the community. Through his steadfast commitment and advocacy he played a pivotal role in making it possible for Jonathan Dayton High School to field their first ever boys lacrosse team in 2017, creating opportunities that continue to benefit generations of student athletes.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Carrie; his cherished sons, Gavin and Garett; his loving parents, Michael and Angela Dzikowski; his brother, James Dzikowski, and wife, Stacey; their sons Andrew, Kevin, Jack, and James; his sister, Dana (Dzikowski) Gatto and her two children Vincent and Angela. Michael also deeply loved his aunts, Diana, Maria, Lisa, Kathleen, Pauline, and his uncles, John and Jorge who remained close to him throughout his life. He also cherished his in-laws, Patricia and Robert Donato; his sister-in-law, Debbie, her husband, Carlos, and their daughters, Gabi, Maya, and Olivia; and his brother-in-law, Robert Donato III, his wife, Brittany, and their daughters Vienna, Vayda, and Gianna. His family was the center of his world, and the love he gave so freely will remain his greatest legacy.

While his passing leaves an immeasurable void, those fortunate enough to have known Michael will forever remember his generous heart, boundless spirit, loyalty, and remarkable ability to make every person feel important. His legacy lives on not only in his beloved family, but also in the friendships he nurtured, the athletes he mentored, the community he helped build, and the countless acts of kindness that defined his life.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home 2122 Millburn Ave, Maplewood on Monday, July 6th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, July 7th at 10:00 AM at the St. James the Apostle Church, 45 S. Springfield Ave, Springfield. Cremation Services are Private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his name to The Gift of Gratitude program through the Overlook Foundation.
