Obituary of Dorothy G. Madigan

Dorothy Godek Madigan of South Orange, N.J., passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on the morning of March 31, 2018. Dorothy was born on Jan. 11, 1928, in Holyoke, Mass., to her parents John and Theresa Godek. She graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in textile design. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Crane Madigan, in 1987. She was a homemaker and ran a flag and banner making business with Charles and later by herself. Always cheerful and a great conversationalist, she made many dear friends throughout her life. She was a wonderful, loving mother of three children, Timothy, Jeffrey and Susan DiRocco. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ava Madigan Ashley DiRocco and Francis Madigan, and her great-grandchild, Jonathan Popka. No funeral or memorial services will held at her request. Donations to any pet rescue organizations would be greatly appreciated.
