Obituary of Eloise Gruber

Eloise Berry Gruber, 95,  passed away at home on Tuesday, November 24 th, 2020

Born February 6th, 1925 she was originally from Wadesborro, North Carolina, Mrs Gruber also lived in Little River, SC, Washington, DC, NY, NY, Maplewood, New Jersey and eventually in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After graduating from business school she worked in the Pentagon during WWll.  After the war she made her way to NYC and attended the Barbizon School of Modeling and modeled in and around NY.  After the untimely death of her husband, she went back to the federal government and was employed as a legal secretary for the US Attorney’s office in Newark where she worked for many notables.

She is survived by her beloved children, Barbara Gruber Savino (Frank) and Frank Richard Gruber and 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, one brother, John W Berry of Little River, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews .  She was predeceased by her husband, Frank A. Gruber, her identical twin sister, Lucille Berry Morgan and 4 brothers, Porter, Burgin, Zeb and William as well as her parents, GC and Lula Porter Berry and daughter-in-law Shawn Gruber. 

Private services under the direction of Jacob Holle Funeral Home, Maplewood, NJ will take place Friday, December 4 th with burial at Fairview Cemetery , Westfield.  A Memorial service will take place after pandemic ends.
