My condolences to the Metta family especially Ann and Angela. I had the pleasure of growing up around the Mettas because my dad worked with Phil in the fire department. As years went on, I had the privilege of working with Phil on his shift for years with many laughs over and over. A true gentleman who will be missed. RIP Brother

Good bye dear Uncle Phil....Bill and I send our deepest condolences to Aunt Ann, Angel, Bob, Phylis Ann and all the family. I will also cherish our joint connection to Special Education. Uncle Phil had such a passion to learn about Special Needs children and he advocated for his daughter in only the way a "Metta" could. I remember during one of our Sunday visits he showed me how he was able to teach Phylis Ann to play cards. He was so proud of that! I know he is in a place of light and sunshine and with the METTA'S again.
Love,
Kathy & Bill

Sending my heartfelt condolences to Auntie Ann, Angel and all her family, and Phylis Ann. When I think of Uncle Phil the first thing I remember is his laugh and his smile. His love of knowledge, he was always doing some sort of research.
Finally his Faith was so important to him... when I was in my early 20’s he talked to me about being Reborn and had me claim Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
I will miss you Uncle Phil as many others, but I know you are at peace and in a better place!
Love
Patti

Not so many kids could say that there uncle was a fireman. I could. For a young boy in the 50s and 60s that was a special thing! I was proud of him for that reason . It was a very serious grown up job he had but in some ways Uncle Phil wasn’t the typical adult. He had a sparkle in his eyes and always a grin with a joke. He was engaging even to us kids and made me feel respected and important. He has been missed all these years but I suppose his deep commitment to his faith lead him through a life of his own choosing. To Aunt Anna, Angel and Bob, Phyllis and all your families my deepest sympathy for your loss. Still, I remain proud of my uncle because I know he’s in heaven.

My condolences to Auntie Ann, Angel, Phyllis Ann, and the grandchildren.
Uncle Phil was a loyal servant of the Lord and very devoted to his family. He was a tough guy with a tender heart. For me, he set a great example as a Christian who loved his family unconditionally and was not afraid of reproach or feedback in service to the Kingdom of God.
Rest easy, Uncle Phil.
Love, Paul and Jackie.
