Obituary of Paola Cellitti

Paola Cellitti (nee Caliciotti) age 89, passed peacefully in her South Orange home, surrounded

by her loving family on Thursday, February 18. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady Of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange on Wed, Feb 24^th at 10:30 AM. Entombment Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.  Visitation will be held at Preston Funeral Home 153 South Orange Ave, South Orange on  Tuesday, 3-7 pm. Born in 1931 in Ferentino Italy, she was united in marriage to Giuseppe Cellitti in 1957_ and soon after emigrated to the United States with their two young children in search of the American dream.  Together they built a beautiful life and enjoyed, to the fullest, the love of their family and friends.

She was well know locally as an expert in alterations and operated Paola’s Alterations in South Orange for over forty years. Her skills attracted the attention of every well dressed woman in the surrounding area as a visit to her “shop” was a must if perfection was the goal.  

Her talents were many but none more appreciated than her marvelous family meals.  Many wonderful hours were spent together around her always welcoming table.  For family, friends, friends of friends; there was always an extra chair. 

She is survived by her son, August and his wife Tracey, her daughter Grace and her husband Sassine, her 6 grandchildren; Wayne, Joseph, Kimberley, Paulina, Danielle and Monique.  She will be missed by her  loving brother and sister in law Ambrogio and Filomena Caliciotti as well as many dear nieces and nephews.
