Obituary of Daniel J. O'Shaughnessy

Daniel J.   O'Shaughnessy, 100 of Tamarac, Fla., formerly of South Orange and Wall Township, NJ died on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Florida Medical Center, Ft. Lauderdale. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home 2122 Millburn Ave, Maplewood, NJ on Wednesday May 26th from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, NJ  on Thursday May 27th  at 10:00 AM. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, E. Hanover, NJ. A memorial Service will be held in Florida at a later date yet to be announced.  

Danny was born in Newark, NJ and last worked as a Relay Inspector for Westinghouse in Newark from 1970 – 1980. Previously he worked as a foreman at Dugan Bros, Newark 1940-1958 and was owner of Shapow’s Liquor Store in Newark from 1959-1970. He was a volunteer at the St. Vincent DePaul Society, St. Malachy Parish, Tamarac, Fla and an usher at St. Malachy Parish. He was active in the Men’s Club Section 10, Tamarac, Fla and a member of the Italian /American Club in Fla. The last 8 years he resided at Wickshire Tamarac Assisted Living where he never missed the daily exercise class and looked forward to happy hour for his glass of red wine.    Daniel was predeceased by his parents Jerry and Nora (Comer) O’Shaughnessy, and siblings Jerry O’Shaughnessy,   Frances Brysett and his nephew Dennis Brysett. He is survived by his niece Maryann  Sajor, and great nieces Kimberly Zito and Danielle Deuel and great great nephews Sean Michael Zito and Joshua Deuel. In lieu of flowers donations to American Heart Assoc, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691 would be appreciated.
