My husband, Jim Baldwin, was about 11 years of age when he met Al. Throughout his life, Jim always shared good memories of him. Jim was a very skilled man contributing his automotive and electrical knowledge to Al. He cherished the tools and drafting implements Al had given him when he was a teenager. He would continue to use them when he studied civil engineering. Some of his memories of Al included the two of them replacing the siding on his parent's home, but the best was flying in Albert's plane especially the thrill of going under the George Washington Bridge which, of course, was totally illegal making it that much more "fun". He shared Albert's memorable but terrifying WWII experiences with our sons. Jim predeceased Al on 8/20/20. Both, of course, are in my prayers. Thanks for sharing that lovely video. Pat Baldwin

Remembering Brother-in-Law Albert Kubichek Some of my memories of Albert…. He was a good natured guy…always with a silly joke or kibbitz….especially with ‘Nana and Pop Pop’ and could always make them laugh. I appreciated that. He respected elders, took great care of and loved his mother. On a personal note, never judged or criticized me, or got mad; he was respectful and kind to me. Albert was a very handy guy who could always find some project to do……the time he visited and ran a new electrical connection for an added ceiling lamp in my house, or installed a new large bay window at the shore house. He had a thorough and practical knowledge of most construction details ….when it was time to sell the Spring Lake Heights home after Vernon Sr. passed, he impressed the buyer with the quality details of the building that I believe was very helpful for the sale. Part of the ‘Greatest Generation’ who joined the Navy underage and survived his bombed and sinking ship. I think that single event set him to a positive attitude on life. He didn’t ‘suffer fools gladly’ but found an appreciation that despite whatever problems small or big that would follow, everything would be OK. That’s how I’d like to remember him. Vernon Polidoro

you and Joan stood up for us when we were married..Albert always loved our family. His sister was in Cal. so we were his family. Thanks for your understanding and appreciation of his time with you. Love you bro.
