Obituary of Elizabeth M. Sapienza

Elizabeth M. Sapienza (nee Jacobellis) 94 of Union, formerly of Irvington and Vailsburg, died on June 25^th at Cornell Hall Nursing Home in Union.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, 767 Prospect St., Maplewood, on Tuesday, June 29^th at 11:00 AM. Entombment is in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, E. Hanover.  Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home 2122 Millburn Ave, Maplewood on Monday, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.

Elizabeth was born in Newark and lived in Vailsburg and Irvington before moving to Union.

She worked at Lionel Trains in Hillside where she met her husband of 62 years. She later worked for Sacred Heart School in Vailsburg.

She was predeceased by her husband John C. Sapienza, her sister Rose Savitteri and her brother Guy Jacobellis. Elizabeth is survived by her children Barbara Ann Becht (Bernard), Frank J. Sapienza (Jeani) and Janet Liberto (Michael), sister Bella Armeno, grandchildren John Becht (Erika), Marissa Trevisan (Thiago), Thomas Becht (Karla), Joseph, Nina, and Gabrielle Sapienza, and Michael and Nicholas Liberto,  and great grandchildren Ella, Nolan, Riley, Charlie and Isabella.

In lieu of flowers donations to Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, 375 Kings Highway North Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08034 or Lucky Fin Project, 1320 North Vermont Ave., Royal Oak, MI, 48067 would be appreciated.
