Thomas Walter Alexander, Esq.
Thomas W. Alexander of Spring Lake Heights, NJ, passed away peacefully at Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. He was 76 years old.
Tom is survived by sister Judith Alexander Matthews and brother John “Jack” Donald Alexander (Karen). He was preceded in death by his parents, Grace (Hughes) and Thomas “Snook” Walter Alexander.
Tom grew up in South Orange, and has lived down the Shore since 2000. He attended Columbia High School, graduated from St. Anselm’s College in Manchester, NH in 1967. He graduated from Seton Hall Law School in 1971, and that same year was admitted to the New Jersey Bar.
Since 1972, Tom ran the Law Office of Thomas W. Alexander in Union and Elizabeth for fifty years. He was very generous with his time to help out family, friends as well as those unable to pay the costs of legal representation.
In additional to his day job, Tom was a partner in the Manasquan bar and restaurant, Edgars, in the early 2000s for ten years. He was an usher at Our Lady of Sorrows Church for 25 years. Tom was a member of the Elks Club in Manasquan, and was a daily visitor to the Wall Township Library.
Visitation will be held at Preston Funeral Home 153 South Orange Ave, South Orange on Sunday, July 25th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church 217 Prospect Street, South Orange, on Monday, July 26th at 10:30 AM the Mass will be live streamed please visit prestonfuneralhome.net for the link.
