Rest in peace John. I met John while he was in high school and frequented Maplewood Village, and I worked at the Maplewood theater. I have a clear image of him in these days with his black fingerless gloves and army jacket and boots, I'm sure there were some chains in there too. Since these days our paths crossed several times through the intervening years as we shared interests in Civil War history, and fantasy gaming. My deepest and sincere condolences to Maggie, Erin, and the rest of John's family and friends. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

RIP John, you were the best market buddy ❤️ always serving that sarcastic sense of humor that kept us going through some fun and or tough market days. You set up next to me in the blistering heat, freezing cold, and everything in between, someone I could complain to and celebrate with. You also understood how rewarding it was to make a sale! Thank you for making so many market days fun and, of course, always interesting, there was never a dull moment with you and DEFCON! I’ll miss you forever buddy

Our memories of John date back to tailgate parties in the parking lot of the Meadowlands home of the NJ Devils hockey team. John joined our large tailgate group which included 2 trained chefs and others of notable culinary talent. John introduced his home made hot sauce in Poland springs water bottles. It was an instant success with our crew and became the hot sauce recognized by the Devils not long after that. We had a lot of fun in that parking lot as well as back at John and Maggie’s home. RIP John! Love to Maggie, Mom and Dad Dilly and to your sister too! Annie and PJ

John was a true character and renisaunce man. I worked with him for a year and enjoyed sharing the adventures of our youth, music, and hot sauce. A great human being. Godspeed my friend. Condolences to his family, he spoke of you all often.
