Michael J. Beirne, 74, of Springfield, Virginia passed away at home on Sunday October 17, 2021.

 

Michael was born and raised in West Orange, NJ with his parents, Martin and Margaret (Christensen) Beirne and his older brother Fr. Chris Beirne of Short Hills, NJ.

 

Michael graduated from Seton Hall Prep, Newark College of Engineering (NJIT) and the University of Connecticut. Upon graduation in 1968, he began his engineering career with the US Navy Underwater Sound Service in New London, CT. and Newport, RI. He was assigned to the Pentagon for the last half of his career until retiring in 2003. He generously and professionally served our country, supporting the submarine service through a career of educated and practical talent.

 

A Memorial visitation will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Road, Short Hills on Saturday October 30th from 11AM-12PM followed by a Funeral Mass at 12PM.
