 Joan A. Willett McBride, 90 of Maplewood passed away at home surrounded by her family on November 27, 2021. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, 767 Prospect Street, Maplewood on Monday, Dec 6th at 9:15 AM. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, N. Arlington.  Visitation will be held at St. Joseph’s Church on Sunday, from 2:00 – 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to RJWBarnabas Health Hospice, 23 Main St, Suite D1, Holmdel, NJ 07733 or Alzheimer’s Assoc, 225 N. Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60601 would be appreciated. Joan was born in Haverstraw, NY   and has lived in Maplewood for 63   for   years.  She received her nursing degree from St. Vincent’s Nursing School in New York City.  Joan worked as a Registered Nurse for Orange Memorial Hospital, Bloomingdales in Short Hills and also for Harrison Research at their Maplewood and Union Offices. Joan was a member of St. Joseph’s Rosary Society, past president of the Home School Assoc at St. Joseph’s, member of the Woman’s Club in Maplewood and a volunteer of the Service League also in Maplewood.

 

Joan was pre-deceased by her husband James H. McBride and sister Audrey Sebastian. She is survived by her children Mary Jeanne, Timothy (Susan) and Maureen McBride and her sister Rita Raywid and her sister-in-law Margaret Oliver (Warren)
