1-1-2022 Sheila, My remembrance of you is from another era. So much time has passed, the decades no longer fit on one hand. I have fond thoughts of you as Dad’s sister and my aunt. My recollections seem to picture you as a bit older and wiser than your siblings. When the family had cause to get together you came across as the grounded sister of Jack, Joe, Bob and Maureen. and had she lived, Kathleen would no doubt of benefited too. You proved that birth order rarely reflects the positive contributions made on behalf of family. Growing up on Ivy Street with your brothers and sister, you no doubt had a role in their upbringing helping them become the individual’s whose memories mean so much to each of us albeit in different ways. As a young boy sitting at Catherine and Joe’s dinner table you and Al seemed joined at the hip. You were in step with each other and genuine. I always looked forward to the dinner time banter especially when finally granted the right to join the adults. Listening to the topics you all justified as important enough to discuss or argue about was a highlight. And then there were Al’s stories about his fishing trips. I’m fuzzy regarding their content but the delivery was always priceless. Lastly, I can still visualize you and Catherine talking in the upstairs kitchen breakfast booth along with the aroma of Joe’s cooking in the basement kitchen while holding court with the men. I’m truly sorry that my children Olivia and Connor never had the privilege of you. Rest in peace Sheila Q. Magliaro knowing that your time on earth, the life you lived had a profound effect on all those you cared about. Sweet memories, John Queenan

My memories of Aunt Sheila go back to 1955. As a 4 year old I vividly remember that, albeit with my limited sample size, I believed she was the most beautiful lady on earth. Marilyn Monroe was a close second. She always made me feel my affection and adoration was appreciated. My godfather, Uncle Albert, was a very lucky man. As each of their daughters was born I remember family saying, "he deserves a son". I know they were thrilled with each daughter as they were born and I know with 2 wonderful parents they are the best anyone can hope for. I regret that in recent years there have been obstacles to seeing each other face to face. Now my regrets cannot be measured. I love you all and with a memory that is both a blessing and a curse. I hold many family events where we were all together close to my heart. Donna and I will see you on Monday and Tuesday and thank you for being in your family.
