James D. Morton, 75, of Kearny, formally of Ironbound, Newark, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Alaris Health At Kearny, in Kearny, NJ.

 

Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Avenue, Maplewood, NJ  on Thursday, February 17th, from 6:00 - 8:00PM. The Funeral Service will also be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home on Friday, February 18th, at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Rd North Arlington, NJ.

 

James was born in Newark, NJ, and had lived in Ironbound, Newark before recently living in Kearny for 10 years. James was an avid motorcyclist in his younger years, and was part of the local Motorcycle Club based in Ironbound, Hell’s Riders. He also loved and collected old vintage cars. He had worked as a Truck Driver for Fresco Trucking, Newark, NJ, for over 30 years before retireing in 2011.

 

James is predeceased by his sister Sharon Morton. He is survived by his son Rickey Lopez (Sonia), siblings  Thomas Morton (Deborah), Robert F. Morton (Nazly), Kathy Ann Vogel (Robert), Peter Schroeck (Monica), and Lori Altamirano (Eric), along with his grandson Jeffery Lopez, as well as many nieces and nephews.
