Elaine was born September 28, 1931, in Irvington, New Jersey, the
youngest of two daughters. She is predeceased by her parents
Antoni and Anna Paprota and her sister Irene.
She grew up surrounded by a loving family of cousins all living in
close proximity to each other. Elaine was one of the youngest of
the girls and enjoyed their friendship and guidance growing up.
She enjoyed many opportunities as a flower girl and bridesmaid.
Elaine graduated from West Side High at the tender age of 16,
having skipped a grade along the way. College followed with
thoughts of being a teacher. Elaine met the boy across the street,
fell in love and married her husband Henry in 1950. Henry and
Elaine established a successful interior design company and
worked side by side until their retirement in 1991. Elaine lost
Henry in 2019 after 69 years of marriage.
Elaine was a talented artist and extraordinary seamstress providing
amazing costumes and dresses for family over the years.
Elaine is survived by son Eric Wojner and his partner Diana
Gaines of The Woodlands, Texas, daughter Heide Schmidt-Cruz
and her husband, Antonio of Lisbon, Portugal. She was a proud
grandmother of Corinne Vrazel and her husband, Daniel of
Birmingham, Alabama, Alexis Kassil and her husband Josh of
Fountain Hills, Arizona, and Ian Cruz of Washington, DC.
Additionally, two great-grandchildren, great-grandson Dash Vrazel
