Ricardo Q. Tumang, 82 of South Orange passed away on Sunday June 26, 2022 at St. Barnabas Hospital. He was born in Pampanga, Philippines and earned his Bachelors degree in architecture from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila. Ricardo emigrated to the United States in 1969, where he met his beloved “Mahal” Flor, and worked as an architect for several prestigious firms, with many notable projects in the tri-state area. His final role held was at STV Inc. in New York City before his retirement in 2014.
Ricardo was known for his sense of humor and playful demeanor. He loved playing cards, was a chess champion, and an avid sports collector. Above all he loved his family especially his beloved “Mahal”.
Ricardo is survived by his wife Flor Tecson-Tumang M.D., his children Marie Celeste Atienza (Jeffrey), Richard F. Tumang, Eric Bowes (Ron), grandchildren Emily, Jacob and Beatriz.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing at Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange on Thursday, June 30 from 4pm-8pm and Funeral Mass at Our lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange on Friday July 1 at 10AM.
