Anna Marie, known as Anne was born in Paterson, NJ.  She was raised in Ridgewood and raised her family with her husband Charles in Ridgewood and Franklin Lakes. She was primarily a homemaker who was devoted to raising and loving her four children.   As empty nesters, Anne and Charles lived in Manhattan and Englewood before settling in South Orange 14 years ago.   She was a graduate of Ridgewood High School and attended Georgetown Visitation in Washington DC.    Anne was extraordinarily talented in the arts as a trained opera singer and pianist in her youth and went on to become an artist painting beautiful oil on canvas reproductions of impressionist art and original landscapes which adorned her and Charles’s homes and those of her children.   She was an athlete as well who played tennis and golf.  In the winter, they relocated to their home in La Quinta, California where they played golf and tennis at PGA West.  She tried and enjoyed many exercise classes and enjoyed walking her dog.  Anne and Charles also enjoyed foreign travel and traveled extensively but especially to Germany and Austria where Anne could speak German which she learned from her parents who were both German.

She was predeceased by her son Kenneth Gibbs.   Anne is survived by husband of 63 years Charles Gibbs, her son Michael Gibbs (Kerry), daughters Christina Gibbs and Jennifer, Vinsonhaler (Michael), Brothers Herbert Schell (Shirley) and Edward, Schell (Lynn) and grandchildren Kendra, Rory, Kelly, Alexa, Caitlin, Breanne and Ashley.

In lieu of flowers donations to Foundation for Morristown Medical Center or Little Sisters of the Poor  would be appreciated.
