I wish to express my deepest condolences to the family of Dr. Shu-ting Lin. I considered Dr. Lin a friend, not just a co-worker, at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's New York Office. I have known him more than 25 years when Mr. Martin Inwald was our Regional Engineer. S.T.'s resume included a stint with the Tennessee Valley Authority as a hydraulic engineer before coming to our agency. He is a lucky man married to Kattie and he leaves a legacy with his son and daughter married and has two grandchildren. I will miss this quiet, decent and honorable gentleman. Jim Wing

I worked with S.T. (we just called him S.T. at the office) for over 20 years at the Dept of Energy (actually called FERC, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) inspecting hydroelectric dams. My understanding is that S.T. earned a PhD from Penn State studying seismic engineering. My condolences to Dr. Lin's family.

My heartfelt condolences to the Lin’s Family. I worked with Mr ST as a personal caregiver and I could say that he is the best patient I ever had in my life. He is very respectful, cooperative and most of all he is really a good person. I can’t forget his two thumbs up each time I asked him if he is okay. Mr ST you and your family is always in my heart .

I live in the UK and I know Mr Lin’s daughter Lisa. I was introduced to her by my sister who worked in New York with Lisa for a short time some years ago. I lost my sister Anne-Marie earlier this year. Whilst in New York Lisa kindly invited Anne-Marie to her parents house ( I think it may have been for Thanksgiving). Anne-Marie often told how welcomed she was by Mr and Mrs Lin and so enjoyed the feast they all shared. I met Mr Lin when we attended Lisa snd Chuck's wedding. He hosted the most wonderful evening. Mr Lin’s passing is a huge loss to his family and friends. My thoughts are with you all at this sad time.
