She was very devout and always so kind. My parents both loved meeting up with your parents at mass or around town. You now carry the torch - Katie! My name is MaryAnn Keenan. I am Helen Carey’s daughter. Gosh I just adored your parents. Your dad was such a gentleman and your mom was honestly one of the loveliest ladies I have ever known. So vibrant and full of class and style. Your parents attended our wedding and were wonderful friends of my parents. My husband, John and I send your entire family our deepest sympathies as you mourn the loss of your mom. What a treat to have known her. She was so special.

John, Billy and Katie: I know how saddened you are by the loss of Mary Ellen. A wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and a real force in your lives. I’ll always remember her including me in Thanksgiving dinners when I was new to New York and far from family. Loved her stories about New Jersey and commentary on current events. Mary Ellen’s volunteer service to her church is fondly recalled, I’m sure. Kelly Roper says in her poem “So each time you see a shamrock, remember your loved one that's passed. Strive to be worthy of Heaven, where you'll be reunited at last.”
