Obituary of Patricia A. Skidmore

Patricia  Skidmore (nee Jaekel), 92 of Short Hills passed away at home on November 19, 2022.

Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home 2122 Millburn Avenue, Maplewood, NJ on Sunday, Nov 27^th  from 2:00-4:00 PM. Followed by a prayer service. Interment is private. 

Patricia was born in Newark, and lived in Short Hills for 68 years. She graduated from Purdue University. Patricia worked as a dietician at Bamberger’s where she met her husband, Col. Francis J. Skidmore, who was an executive there at the time. She then took time to raise her step-children before returning to work as a School Teacher for  Essex County Vocation High School, Caldwell, NJ.

Patricia was predeceased by her husband Col. Francis J. Skidmore, her sisters Virginia Dietz and Betty Keller, as well as her step children Mary Bauer, Francis J. Skidmore Jr. and John T. Skidmore. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Catherine Skidmore, grandchildren Christopher and Brian Bauer, F.J. and Patrick Skidmore and Melissa Waters, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She loved playing Mahjong and Bridge with her friends for many years and was a wealth of information, love and inspiration to us all.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Millburn First Aid Squad (188 Glen Ave, Millburn, NJ 07041) who came to her aid so many times would be appreciated.
