Please share a memory of Barbara to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Barbara V. Delikaris, 73, of Short Hills passed away on January 25, 2023 at Overlook Hospital.
Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home 2122 Millburn Avenue, Maplewood, NJ on Monday, January 30th from 4:30-7:00 PM followed by a prayer and small service starting at 7:00 PM.
Barbara was born in Iowa City, Iowa and has lived in Short Hills for the past 33 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and her Master’s degree in Education from Rutgers University. She was an art teacher with the Springfield Board of Education for 30 years.
Barbara was a life-long educator and looked to bring a smile to everyone around her. She loved drawing, sculpting, reading and writing. Most of all, she cherished being with her family, friends and students. Barb loved to travel, frequenting museums, churches and other historic sites to expand her knowledge of history and its impact on the Arts. Barb especially loved Greece, where she visited yearly throughout her married life. She loved sitting on the balcony, taking naps, and visiting with friends and family – and winning an “occasional” card game. Since retiring, Barb spent countless hours with friends learning to play bridge, working on a book, travelling and being with her grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her beloved husband Thalis Delikaris, son Nick and his wife Kathren, grandchildren Caraline, William and Elizabeth, and her brother Richard and his wife Carol.
