Obituary of Paula C. Roudette

Paula Clara Roudette, 88, of Newark, passed away at home surrounded by her family on May 16, 2023.

Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Church, located at 520 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Newark, on Wednesday, May 24th from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will follow at 12:15 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in East Orange.

Paula was born in Pointe Michel, Dominica, W.I., and lived in Newark, NJ for the last 34 years of her life. She dedicated her career to the Department of Environmental Health for the City of Newark, retiring as a Program Manager. Prior to that, she received her Paralegal Certification from Fordham University in NYC and worked as a paralegal for several years. Earlier in her career, Paula was a legal secretary in London, England, where she worked with solicitors/barristers.

On December 18th, 2021, Paula tragically lost her only son, Arnold Alred Roudette.

Paula is survived by her daughter, Claire Roudette; grandson, Alexander Trevor Roudette; and sister, Alice Activille. She is also survived by her nieces and nephew: Venancia Grell, Sharon Francis, Lucy (Merle) Activille, Orlando Celaire, and Jennifer Celaire. Additionally, she leaves behind great-nieces and nephews: Simone Grell, Aidan Grell, Marlea Edwards, Benu Napata, Aisha Activille, Patricia Celaire, and bonus grandson Jayden Reaves along with many more cherished relatives and friends.
