To Dr. Qualter’s wife and family, our sincere condolences. We were shocked to learn of his passing. Know that he’s at rest with God in heaven. We know we’ll see him again. Dr. Quilter was a rare and unique person who made each person he met feel valued and cared for. He epitomized every person he met was a friend. He was genuinely interested in what was happening in his patients lives and believed that impacted their health more than anything. He firmly believed “Laughter was the best medicine.” We still quote some of his jokes. He was rare and exemplary as a physician and as a friend. We were blessed to have him as our Doctor for years. My condolences to the entire family of the late Dr. John Qualter. He was my doctor for many years at the Maplewood office. As a Clergy person (Baptist Minister) in Newark, I can say with assurance that Dr. Qualter was a man with a warm and caring spirit. I want to give my sincere condolences to the family of Dr. John Qualter. I had the pleasure of working with John for many years and he has always been such and inspirational figure in my life. From his incredible sense of humor to his great compassion for all people he has truly been a great mentor and friend to myself. Every encounter I had with John always made me feeling a bit better than I was before. He brought positivity and light to a world that is full of shadows and for that I am grateful. To sally and the rest of Johns family I again wish you my sincere condolences, Your loss is felt by a great many. To the Qualter Family, I was one of Jack's first patient as a girl of 17. He delivered both of my children, cared for me, my sister and my Mother for years. Always compassionate and offering kind words. He could never be replaced. The Dr. Snoopy that hung in the hall of the office for years, was made by me for my favorite doctor and person. Uncle Jack truly fulfilled the Osteopathic Physician's Prayer (A.T. Still): Dear Lord, thou Great Physician, I kneel before Thee. Since every good and perfect gift must come from Thee I pray, give skill to my hand, clear vision to my mind, kindness and sympathy to my heart. To Sally and the entire Qualter Family, I am so sorry to hear about Jack. I never saw him without his wonderful charming smile and easy going manner. He was a wonderful doctor who always seemed to enjoy the practice of medicine and was so wonderful and dedicated to his patients. As a reporter on The Item I reported on Dr. Qualter's excellent service to the people of Millburn on the Board of Education. Many years after I left The Item Dr. Qualter did an excellent job as our family physician. He was an outstanding gentleman with a great sense of humor and a very positive outlook on life. Uncle Jack was beloved by his entire family. He made every family gathering more fun with his storytelling, jokes and entertainment, including his famous tap dancing. Whether it was piercing his nieces' ears, stitching us up from falls or taking care of us when we were ill, he always had time to care for us and make us laugh when we weren't feeling so great. He had a gift of making you feel special. We will miss him dearly and we pray for Aunt Sally, Karen, Alison, Jill and John and their families. Sending our love. Lori, Mike and Family

Jack was part of our Cornerstone Men's group at Our Lady of the Mount Church. Jack sought out the Lord in a deep way. I can recall him be touched by our meeting's testimonies and recognized he had a yearning for our Blessed Lord. And now, he is privileged to be with Him in eternal life!

Growing up with Karen in Millburn/Short Hills, we were always super supported and uber impressed by Dr Qualter. He packed the best lunches, was the first to rush over to an injured athlete during school games, cheered us on even though we sounded terrible playing music at St Rose, danced with Frank Sinatra flair with Mrs. Qualter at parties, and loved his family and all of us with his big generous optimistic soul. Our hearts are missing a few beats with sadness, but we are deeply gratitude that Dr. Qualter was on earth. Rest in Peace, and God Bless Mrs. Qualter, Karen, Alison, Jill, and John. Jack was our neighbor for close to 15 years. We became fast friends for many reasons. One of my very special memories is taking Jack flying. He was one of a kind and could light up any room he entered with his warmth and humor. Jack will forever be in Jane’s and my memories. Jane & Ron Joffe
